Who We Are

The JackBuh Foundation empowers underserved communities by redirecting surplus resources—such as clothing, educational supplies, and vocational tools—to those in need. We focus on education, healthcare, and job training to create lasting change and promote economic independence.

We envision a world where everyone has the resources and opportunities to thrive, driving positive and sustainable change in communities everywhere.

Founder’s Inspiration
The JackBuh Foundation was founded by Jackson Buhendwa, whose life journey shaped its mission. Born in Bukavu, Democratic Republic of Congo, he was forced to flee due to conflict, eventually seeking refuge in Angola. After years of displacement, he resettled in the United States, where he gained a deeper understanding of global challenges and the need for change.
These experiences deepened Jackson's commitment to improving the lives of those in Congo, leading to the creation of the JackBuh Foundation, dedicated to addressing poverty and conflict in the region.

Why Help Congo?

Jackson’s commitment to Congo is rooted not in his personal hardships, but in his deep concern for the challenges facing its people. Having witnessed firsthand the widespread poverty, the long-term impact of conflict, and the struggles of families and children lacking basic necessities such as food and healthcare, he is dedicated to creating sustainable solutions to improve the lives of those in need.

Having experienced the hardships of walking miles without shoes, enduring hunger, and witnessing extreme poverty, Jackson has a profound understanding of the daily struggles faced by millions of Congolese. More importantly, he recognizes the resilience and strength that define the Congolese spirit. Through the JackBuh Foundation, Jackson is dedicated to providing not only essential resources but also fostering hope, compassion, and a commitment to empowering the next generation to thrive.

Poverty in Congo

Extreme poverty in the Democratic Republic of Congo is a complicated issue. Over 73% of the population lives on less than $1.90 a day, and several factors contribute to this poverty:

Conflict and Political Instability: Ongoing conflicts have held back the country's development, leaving people struggling.

Displacement: Millions of people have been forced to leave their homes, becoming refugees within the country.

Colonial History: The exploitation of Congo's resources during colonial times and by past dictators still harms the economy.

Basic Needs: Access to clean water, healthcare, and education is limited, leaving many in urgent need.

Resource Exploitation and Human Rights Violations: Armed groups exploit Congo’s natural resources, worsening economic instability and causing human rights abuses, particularly in mining.

Other Challenges: Disease outbreaks, a large number of refugees, and poor infrastructure make the situation even worse.

Our Mission

The mission of the JackBuh Foundation is to make a transformative impact in the lives of vulnerable Congolese communities, with a particular focus on children, who represent the future of the nation. In the next five years, our goal is to support 1 million beneficiaries, providing essential resources—food, healthcare, education, and clean water.

Our mission is not simply about delivering aid; it's about offering hope and opportunity. Through these efforts, we aim to sow seeds of change that will lift entire communities out of poverty, helping them build a brighter, self-sufficient future.

The road to making a lasting impact in Congo is long and challenging, but it is not impossible. With God's grace and the support of generous donors who share in this mission, we can make a difference, one life at a time.
